World Bank and Tongan Government Pledge Commitment to Swift Project Implementation for Development

Suva, Fiji- Mr. Stephen Ndegwa, the country Director for PNG and the Pacific Islands at the World Bank, held a meeting with Hon. Tiofilusi Tiueti in Suva, Fiji. The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss the progress of the Worl Bank funded projects in Tonga.

During the Meeting, Mr. Ndegwa underscored the important of accelerating the implementation of these projects. He highlighted the importance of accelerating the implementation of these projects. He highlighted their significant in contributing to Tonga’s development and addressing various challenges. In response, Hon. Tiofilusi Tiueti, the Minister, reiterated the Governments unwavering commitment to actively support the obligation of the implementing Agencies involved in the projects.

The Discussion reflected a shared dedication to ensuring the successful execution of the projects for the benefit of Tonga advancement. The collaboration between the world Bank and Tongan Government aims to drive positive changes and achieve developmental goals in the region.

The meeting concluded with mutual understanding of urgent need to expedite project implementations and a reinforced commitment from both sides to work closely to achieve the desired outcome.
