The key internal stakeholders of the Budget division include the CEO and the Minister for Finance, and also works closely with the other divisions within the Ministry towards producing the Government Budget Estimates. In addition, Budget also has key external stakeholders that include MDAs, Cabinet and Parliament.
The division is responsible for producing one of the core main outputs of the Ministry of Finance, which is the Government Budget Estimates as mandated under Part III of the Public Finance Management Act 2002.
Budget staff conduct analyses to: identify areas of the budget that suggest budget or financial management problems exist; ensure that government policies incorporate sound financial management principles; and identify budget options and analyse budget issues for executive consideration.
