IAD was established in 2010 to help the ministry accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
The division is mandated by the Internal Audit Charter 2019 to provide independent and objective reviews and offer independent opinion to assure the Minister of Finance that financial and operational controls within the ministry are operating in an efficient, effective and ethical manner.
IAD is also mandated to assist management in improving performance to further assist the Ministry in accomplishing its set objectives.
