Government of Japan continues to support communities
Through the Japan Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects or commonly known as the GGP funding was approved for the four following communities;
1.      The Project for the Upgrade of the Water Supply System of Tatakamotonga Village, Total amount of USD$81,827.
2.      The Project for the Upgrade of the Water Supply System of Ha’asini Village and Hamula Village, Total amount of USD$81,432.
3.      The Project for the Upgrade of the Water Supply System of Folaha Village, Total amount of USD$81,388.
4.      The Project for the Upgrade of the Government Primary School of Havelu/Tofoa, Total amount of USD$82,660.
The Ministry of Finance and National Planning together with the communities will work to ensure smooth implementation over the coming months.
H. E Yuko Numata Ambassador of the Embassy of Japan in Tonga signed the grant agreements on behalf of his government and the respective town representatives on behalf of their communities.
Hon. Ministers for Infrastructure and Tourism, Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fish and Forestry, Minister for Internal Affairs were also present during the ceremony.
